Top Ten Tuesday (3): Top Ten Books You'd Hand To Someone Who Says They Don't Like To Read

February 7: Top Ten Books You'd Hand To Someone Who Says They Don't Like To Read

This awesome Meme was created by the girls over at The Broke and the Bookish.

1.   - the main reason is so that SOME people read the (AWESOME!) book(s) before the movie came out. Anyone who DOESN'T at least like or enjoy The Hunger Games is kinda crazy.

2.  - this book is a fantastic. It may be a little older but it was a young adult book before young adult was even young adult. Do you know what I mean?

3.
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer(Mara Dyer, #1) - This book has all the twists and turns and fantastic "I hate you" romance. This book is great.

4.
Songs for a Teenage Nomad - This stand-alone novel is fantastic to read and fun. I love the simplicity and cuteness.

5.
Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac - This book has everything you need in a novel and it will lure you into an all night-er of reading.

6.
Anna and the French Kiss - This book is for the hopeless romantic that we all know who doesn't read. This book is life. Truly: it is love lust and teenage girl hormone induced thoughts that are just real and relatable.

7. Thirteen Reasons Why - This book has many lessons and morals we should all live by in life- I would love to share this book with a Non-reader.

8.  Cut - This book gets inside the mind of a cutter and gives us a glimpse of a different perspective.

9.   Someone Like You - This book shoves its way into your brain and makes you treasure who you have while you have them.

10.  Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) - This book is definitely for your anti-reading nerdy friend who loves making up new words and quoting that space movie down to the comma's & pauses

Top Ten Tuesday (2)- Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To Someone Who Doesn't Read (X)

Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To Someone Who Doesn't Read (X)

(for example, if you are a YA blogger you might pick 10 YA books for ppl who don't read YA or if you read classics maybe 10 classics that those who don't typically read classics might read! Or you could get more specific).

1. The Lying Game by Sara Shepard to- AnQi@ A Splatter of Ink (Ink-Kaja)
Mainly because she despises pretty little liars-
and I like this series a lot more than the PLL series- although the T.V show totally rocks!

2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer to Jada
because Jada is into all of those wholesome books with little to no action or mental issues and I think this book would be a great book to read outside of her favorite genre's

3. Getting Over Garrett Delaney to Demi
because she reads all paranormal junk mainly- you need to branch out

4. Anna and the French Kiss to Demi
same reason as above- and this rocks

5. Dead Reckoning to My Mom
because my mom watches true blood all the time (amen, to that) but her problem is she only reads books by asian authors (??) Why only that- I have no idea...

6. The International Kissing Club to AnQi-
because you need a little cheese in your life (once in a while .. anyway)

7.  Songs for A Teenage Nomad to anyone who likes Sarah Dessen

8. The Hunger Games to My Aunt
Cause she only reads that twilight crap... that I love too but still!

9. 13 Reasons Why to MaryGrace
She only reads classics and Goose Girl- and because everyone should read this book.

10. Across the Universe- to Andrew H.
because all he reads is realistic fiction books about baseball and basketball!!!!! Ew, by the way...

Top Ten Tuesday 2- Top Ten Books of 2011

A big thank you to the girls@ The Broke and Bookish! They created this weekly Meme that I am just getting started in!

Top Ten Books of 2011

Note: If they all could be #1 - most of these books would be!

1. Anna and the French Kiss. - I JUST READ THIS. LAST WEEK. Boy was I missing out- I believe this was one of the most refreshing romances I have read this year! I loved it and therefore it is #1.

2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer- This book was so messed up and twisted. I couldn't put it down- If you have not read this- then it should be at the top of your To Be Read NOW list.

3.  Getting Over Garrett Delaney- If you have read my review you know why I love it- but quick recap: The friendship and true meaning is great and exemplifies how real life REALLY works.

4. Son of Neptune- Just because it really, truly ROCKED.

5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone- This book was weird and wonderful and strange and alluring all at the same time- great read.

6. Where the Truth Lies- this title has a double meaning- and I love it. This book is super messed up- if you enjoy twisted realistic fiction tales. Then a definite book for you.

7.  Break-Once again- another messed up tale I enjoyed. This book is about a boy who breaks his own bones intentionally and his goal is breaking all of them. Short read but super powerful.

8. Divergent- Dystopian. Romance. Mystery. Thriller. What more can you ask for??

9. Crank- Powerful message conveyed through poetry... and drugs are scary...

10. Songs for a Teenage Nomad- I just loved this book- very relatable... cute but not too cheesy. Great balance.

Well I fear that is the end of my Top Ten Books I read in 2011...

Now it is up to you!
What is your top ten- post in the comment section and I will add your link to this blog post.
I hope you all had a very Happy Holidays-
2012- It is OUR year!

Top Ten Tuesday 1- Top Ten Books I Want to Give As Gifts

A big thank you to the girls@ The Broke and Bookish! They created this weekly Meme that I am just getting started in!
This weeks Top Ten is: What are the top ten books you want to give as gifts and to who?

1.  Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
I would love to give this book to my dear friend Anqi* over @ A Splatter of Ink- the reason for this is because she hasn't read this beautiful 860 page book that I love so much. I own it- but I never lend out my hard copies- Sorry Anqi.

*Pronounced AN-key

2.  The Night Circus
I would love to give my grandma this novel because it it has been on her to read list for quite a while- i probably will soon

3. Anna and the French Kiss by Steohanie Perkins
This would definitely be book I would send over the way to Laura Trewern my British buddy.

4. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
I would give this to Jada @ A Splatter of Ink because she loves The Mortal Instruments series also The Infernal Devices series.

5.  Perfect by Ellen Hopkins
This book would definitely be book I would give to dearest Gracie- we all love Hopkins perfectly imperfect poems.

5.2 Hunger Games
For my Twi-Obsessed aunt- she needs a new hobby.

You see I do not have many ideas of books to give to my friends- because some of them do not read much- nor my family... so here are the books on the top of MY wish list that I WANT as gifts- hint hint.

6. Unearthly
Because I have heard amazing things about this book- and need to check out the action myself. Since our local Borders shut down B&N never has this one in stock- and when I order it- it never comes. It is quite alarming.

7. Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson
All of Anderson's books are 100% moving and satistfying after reading that this is a must have for MY holiday.

8. The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Somehow on my trips to the bookstore I always forget this book... hmm.

9. The Gathering (Darkness Rising Book 1)
MUST HAVE. The darkest powers series made me LOVE reading a few years ago- Kelly Armstrong rocks, man.

10. The Summer I Turned Pretty
New Sarah Dessen?

10.2. Revelations (Blue Bloods #3)
I love this series but got way behind

10.4.  Lola and the Boy Next Door
Sigh. Anna. Sigh.

10.6. Shatter Me
Ugh. How I survive I do not have the slightest Idea.

10.8. Strange Fate L.J Smith
I can never seem to find this.
